Glamazon Spring Collaboration: Citrusy Spring!

Hey lovelies!
So yes I know that citrus is typically summer fruit. But it sure feels like summer, and delicious citrus fruit were my inspiration for the 1st monthly Glamazon, the theme was Spring time and these colors fit just that!
I used my Revlon Colorstay foundation, Coastal Scents 88 Ultra Shimmer Palette, Nuance blush in Apricot, NYX Round lipstick in Haute Melon , Sally Hansen Lip gloss in Flawless , and the new Essence I <3 Extreme Mascara.

I will be linking to the pages of the other wonderful bloggers and vloggers below, as they are submitted. Check them out!

Looks For 4-Eyed Beautys

Hello Everyone!

A common complaint out there is, "what's the point of doing a cute eye look, when I am just going to put my glasses on anyway?". Well being a victim of four-eyes pretty much my entire life, I think I can help with this. Now when Kaci brought this to my attention, I didn't think I really did anything all that different than i would if I were wearing contacts. But then I started paying a little more attention and sure enough I was doing things differently without even realizing it.

First, off if your make-up showing is something that is really important to you start with what kind of frames you are wearing.

Personally I prefer plastic frames which of course block most of my face. But if plastic is for you, try to choose a clear or light color frame. If you like black, like me, you can choose a larger or rounded lens to show off those baby blues.

Larger Lens Black Frame, I actually just got these!
Clear Frames

If you dig the metal frames or no no frames, its not as big of a deal. For metal frames I would just stay away from anything rectangular, since it will cut across the center of your lid.
If your make-up is whats important these are NOT for you.

Now for the fun part. If your fed-up with your eyes forget about them. Spring time is right around the corner, try some winged eyeliner and a bright pink lip.
Sorry my liner is not winged because I have droopy eyes, but you get the point :). I have MAC White Frost all over my lid and under brow with Sorme SmearProof Liner and Benefit badGAL lashes, Lips are Covergirl Blast Flipstick in Pucker(both sides)
Want something a little more sultry? Draw as much attention to your lash line as possible, since that's the part you can see the best. Try thick smudgy liner and natural looking false lashes (for added thickness not length) or a dark violet or emerald green around your lashes and blended into the crease with a lighter shade.

Glasses can be sexy and cute, don't think because you are working the nerdy chic on a daily basis that make-up isn't worth your time.

Fun In The Sun!

Happy Monday!

I don't know about you but the weather here in Southern California is finally starting to heat up and I couldn't be happier! In with the bright sun dresses and out with the drab sweaters.

I want to talk about something that is so important to me, sunscreen! I know what everyone is thinking, "but I am so pale from winter I need my tan!" My advice if you do want some color is to use a sunscreen with a lower SPF like a 25 or 30, SPF 8 does not count, and gradually get some color or try sunless tanner. Please for your sake stay away from the tanning beds.

I bring to you some of my favorite ways to stay safe through those hot summer days.

Favorite Face Sunscreen: Sport Face Sunblock Lotion SPF 70+
For only $9.99, this face lotion is a steal. It's a little heavy but when you plan on being outside for a long time for a great summer hike, this is the lotion for you. I am a runner and so I can can get pretty sweaty, even though I can be out on the road for hours I have yet to get sun burned when wearing Sport Face.

Favorite Body Sunscreen: Wet Skin Sunblock Spray SPF 50
For $9.99, I love this spray sunscreen. You can apply in seconds and it works really well. No sticky residue and is perfect for beach days and pool side fun.

Right about now you are probably thinking SPF 70+ and 50? The Artist has lost it. But you only get one set of skin so take care of it! What do I do when I when I want some color? Sunless tanners. I few years ago, sunless tanners where gross and turned everyone Oompa Loompa orange, theses days there are some really great options.

The Natural Glow Firming is my favorite from Jergens it contains contains six anti-cellulite ingredients, which is always a plus. Even though I am super pale I still use the Medium to Tan Skin tone, I feel the Light Skin formula doesn't give me enough color. Natural Glow will run you about $8.00 at Target.

Favorite All Over Body in salon Tanner: Versa Spa
Even though Versa Spa is a little pricier than it's popular counter part Mystic, I have found it to be a much better all over tan. For my pale skin Mystic turns me very funny colors. But with Versa I have tried light, medium and dark tones all of which have looked great and natural. Prices are around $30 for one session and you can get packages that will include multiple tans for a lower price.

I hope you enjoyed my advice and suggestions for this summer, be safe out there and have fun!
